EMQ offers customs services as part of our standard transportation solutions, but can also handle them for shipments where we did not arrange the transportation. This allows you to benefit from flexibility, direct communication, and efficient processing throughout every logistics process.
What exactly does customs do, and when do you need this service?
Customs clearance involves preparing import and export declarations for international shipments. This is required whenever goods enter or leave the European Union. It is particularly relevant for ocean freight, air freight, rail transport, and trucking outside of Europe. Companies encounter this process when importing and exporting goods. EMQ handles this clearance for both Dutch and foreign clients within the EU.
Customs clearance and handling of your shipment
EMQ prepares import and export declarations on behalf of clients for import and export shipments. In addition, we arrange customs documentation for transport under customs procedures, such as T1 and MRN documents. We oversee the entire process and ensure proper coordination with all parties involved. We do this for Dutch companies and for foreign clients through tax representation. To ensure efficient processing, we ask clients to provide the following information.
- Goederenomschrijving en HS-code voor juiste classificatie;
- Inkoopfactuur en paklijst voor controle van de zending;
- Certificaten zoals gezondheid of oorsprong indien van toepassing;
- Recent KvK-uittreksel voor bedrijfsgegevens;
- Formulier directe vertegenwoordiging voor Nederlandse klanten;
- Document beperkt fiscale vertegenwoordiging voor buitenlandse klanten.
